Imo State government has dissolved the Sole Administrators of the 27 local government areas with effect from Thursday, Dec 5, 2013.
In a release by the Secretary to the Government of the state, Prof. Anthony Anwuka, the governor gave approval for the dissolution as well as thanked them for their services to the state.

They were also asked to hand over to the Directors of Administration and General Services (DAGS) of their respective local government areas headquarters which exercise must be completed on or before Friday, Dec 6, 2013.
In another development, the state government has also rolled out her Christmas programme of activities for 2013.
Briefing journalists at the Government House, Owerri after the state executive council meeting, the commissioner for Information and Strategy Dr. Theodore Ekeji revealed them as follows.
Dec. 8: Government to host the entire Imo people in a Christmas carol marked with praises, thanksgivings and prayers at the Freedom Square as people of God. All Imolites are expected to attend irrespective of their political leanings.
Dec 12: Governor Okorocha to celebrate the youth day as well as empowerment of the youths through the 10,000 job creations.
Dec. 13: Okorocha to host Imo workers in all night event in appreciation of their productivity, commitment to good governance and tolerance of some painful government programmes and policies.
Dec 15: Imo women celebration by the wife of the governor with the empowerment of no fewer than 2,000 indigent Imo women.
Dec 16: Competitive Charity Walk by all political appointees and members of the civil society. 1st prize N1m. 2nd N500,000 and 3rd N250,000.
Dec 17: Okorocha to unveil the senior citizens/elders club to give recognition to Imo elders who have labored for the state and nation.
Dec 18: Imo day of thanksgiving, to be organized by the Imo foundation where empathy and sympathy would be shown to the less privileged.
Dec 19-21: Ozuruimo Festival
