All is set for the first entertainment award in Imo state since the state hosted Nigeria Music Awards in 2008 which saw highlife artiste, Ugo Stevenson win the apex award in his genre.

Although the state has witnessed events where merit awards and honours were passed to legends in the area of music [highlife], movie and comedy, the hip-hop artistes are yet to witness one that will accommodate them till the birth of E-Sure Celebrity Awards which holds tomorrow, Friday August 2, 2013 at Bilton Continental Hotels Owerri.
Speaking to www.otowngist.com, the CEO of the brand, E Entertainment, Stanley Akalanu said all is set for the award to hold tomorrow and expects a full house with celebrities especially  those from the South East geopolitical zone.
He however noted that he is aware of the high expectation from people, and will surely see that they are not disappointed, while still urging them to understand that this is the maiden edition.
“I am aware that the greatest challenge people face when they want to create something new is criticism, but it’s always good to see people talking about you because it makes you feel you are doing something.
We have not been perfect along the way, but we are surely learning the lessons of the business and by the time we are coming out again, everything will get bigger and better because we are always open for improvement.” He said.
The event will see artistes [hip-hop and gospel genres], music producers, comedians and bloggers walking home with awards for being outstanding in their various fields as well helping in the growth of the entertainment industry in their region.
Others to receives awards are radio presenter with programmes that have helped in shaping entertainment in their area and in all, more than 20 awards are expected to be given out at the  all-night event.
The event will kick off with Red Carpet by 7:00pm while the main event which is expected to have performances by musicians, comedian and dancers kicks off latter at Bilton Continental Hotels Owerri, Imo State.
