The Speaker Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Uwajumogu has said that the former governor of the state, Chief Ikedi Ohakim can not rule the state again despite all his (Ohakim’s) litigations against Governor Rochas Okorocha’s administration in the  State.

Speaker Uwajumogu made the opinion known at the weekend while addressing the people of Okigwe Zone at Umuariam central school Obowo during the inauguration of 330-man ward expanded executive of Okigwe Peoples Political Movement (OPPM) from the 10 wards of Obowo Local Government Area of the state.
The speaker stressed that the people of Okigwe Zone need a visionary leader and not an opportunist, adding that Okigwe Zone had an opportunity during Ohakim’s administration without vision, which according to him, has nothing positive to show for the opportunity the zone had in ruling Imo State.
Chief Uwajumogu who is the member representing Ihitte/Uboma State Constituency recalled that All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) on which the governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha was elected did not win in any ward in Okigwe zone, pointing out that there is no reason the zone should expect anything from the, present government.
He noted that it took the magnanimity of Governor Okorocha to execute various projects in Okigwe more than in any administration in the state in the last 12years, and enjoined the people of Okigwe zone to continue in their support to the rescue mission agenda of Governor Okoroclia in order to encourage him to provide more democratic dividends to t e people of the zone.     
Speaker Uwajumogu opined  that with OPPM as a political structure for Okigwe zone, that the zone will get all that is due to them in the present and future government in the state, adding that the massive development in the state, the governor has performed miracle, and set example in the state.
Hon. Uwajumogu therefore urged all aspirants of various elective positions in the zone to embrace OPPM, without which, according to him, such aspiration may not be realized pointing out that OPPM is not for the interest of an individual or group, but for the entire Okigwe people for good governance in the zone and state, respectively.
The Chief lawmaker, however commended the OPPM led leadership, especially the Co- ordinator-General, Chief Tony Black Nduka for his outstanding performance in piloting the affairs of the movement, even when he is not occupying any political position in the present government.
Hon. Uwajumogu also hinted that the building of College of Education in the state was a bill passed into law by Hon. Goodluck Opia led House of Assembly, but could not Implement it, adding that the present House under his leadership only amended the bill and  influenced its siting at Ihitte/Uboma in Okigwe Zone.
In his own speech, the Commissioner of Finance, Deacon Chike Okafor who hails from Obowo and the host of the OPPM rally said that Obowo people have resolved to stop bad governance in the area, emphasizing that Obowo under the rescue mission government of Governor Okorocha has benefited a lot from, the state government, especially in the areas of project execution and Appointment; more than in the past 12years.
Deacon Okafor extolled the leadership qualities of the Speaker and his effort at attracting more development to Okigwe zone, even as he poured encomium on the governor, for remembering Obowo and Okigwe zone in his good governance policies in the state, maintaining that they will continue to support the governor always and ready to follow him to any politically party.
While commending the leadership of OPPM, he assured that OPPM flourishes in Obowo more than in any other LGA in Okigwe zone, adding that his people will continue to support OPPM, which he noted is the Okigwe political structure.     
The Chairman Association, of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) in Imo State who is the Ehime Mbano SOLAD, Hon. Chioma Ogoke on behalf of her fellow SOLADS; Chief Uzodinma Osondu for Isiala Mbano, Wilson Chukwuocha for Obowo, and Barr. Uche Okoronkwo for Ihitte/Uboma explained that governor Okorocha did not forget Okigwe zone in both appointments and projects.
She commended the Governor for the developmental projects in the zone assuring him of the continuous support of the people of the zone, at all times.
Hon. Ogoke promised that the Okigwe zone SOLADS will support OPPM and extolled the leadership of OPPM led by Chief Nduka, adding that they will totally support the movement.
Early, the OPPM coordinator General, Chief Nduka had reminded the people of Okigwe zone that OPPM was formed to support the rescue mission government of Governor Rochas Okorocha and their illustrious son, Speaker Uwajumogu for redeveloping Okigwe zone more than any other government in the state after the administration of Chief Sam Mbakwe.     
The OPPM co-ordinator-General stated that after inaugurating the three-man ward executive that 30- man ward expanded exco became necessary towards championing the news of good governance of Governor Okorocha and speaker Uwajumogu in Imo State at the grassroot.
Chief Nduka maintained that OPPM is the political structure of the entire Okigwe people towards the development of Okigwe zone and its people, noting that with Speaker Uwajumogu Okigwe zone will get all that is due to them in the present administration and needed to be supported and encouraged by his people.
He pointed out that OPPM is presently interested on the development of the zone and not who will contest for one political position or the other and charged the people of the zone to embrace All Progressives Congress (APC).for more development
The two time ex-chairman of Isiala Mbano LGA commended governor Okorocha and Speaker Uwajumogu for putting heads together to develop the state and Okigwe zone in particular and expressed gratitude to the speaker for donating 100 wrappers to OPPM women in Obowo LGA.
Inauguration the 330-man ward expanded executive Chief Nduka charged them to operate on  neighbour-to-neighbour style to spread the gospel of Okorocha’s good governance and his APC merger vision at the grassroots.
High point of the event was a unanimous support for the governor’s merger vision to join APC and vote of confidence passed on Chief Nduka as OPPM Coordinator General.
The occasion witnessed an unprecedented turnout by the people of Obowo and other fiver LGAs in Okigwe zone with their executive members.

Emma Ibediro, Eddy Ogor, Mrs. Caroline Okeke, Pharm Okey Anyanwu, Okechukwu Uzoma, Ernest Eze, Emeka Ekenta Sylvester Eboh, Igwe Bony and Barr. Anderson Onuegbu among others.
