Orient TV’s presenter and producer Ugochukwu Uba aka Pluto has called on all promoters in the state to help build the entertainment industry to the level it can pay people the amount their counterparts are earning in other states.
Pluto who made the call while speaking to www.otowngist.com in Owerri, said that most promoters in the state waste their time on already made artistes in the country, forgetting the artistes that are languishing in the streets of Owerri and other cities in the state.

He however called on media houses to support local contents, since it is the only way the state can have stars who can measure up with their fellows in other surrounding states.
“We have good artistes here and with what I have seen, they can measure up with those in Lagos and other states if we can carry them along in our medium.
The media and lovers of music in the state should give them chance by supporting them.
When we make our own stars who can be paid hundreds of thousands or millions for a show, we their promoters will be expecting a higher amount as well. But when we cannot build our own, we will be living on the little they can afford. And when they have nothing, we earn nothing”
Pluto who currently produces and presents a weekly entertainment programme O’town Magic has set his sight to seeing that the programme gets a level that it can gain national recognition.
