The Millennium Development Goal (MDG) through her campus chapter held a sensitization seminar in Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education (A.I.F.C.E), Owerri Thursday November 22, 2012.

According to A.I.F.C.E chapter president, Comrade Obinna Victor, the seminar was held to induct new members into the A.I.F.C.E chapter of the MDG club as well as to achieve the eight goals of MDG, sensitize students about MDG and create the MDG campus club in all universities in eastern Nigeria.

Obinna, while speaking to www.otowngist.com, advised students to come out en masse and support the MDG project in A.I.F.C.E and charged the new members to stand up for the challenge ahead.

In her address, the National coordinator of the club Comr. Ogochukwu Loraine Okoro, said that the aim of MDG is to encourage development by improving social and economical conditions in the world’s poorest countries.

“Every individual has the right to dignity, freedom, equality, a basic standard of living that includes freedom from hunger and violence and encourage tolerance and solidarity” she added.

Guests at the event include the provost A.I.F.C.E, Dr (Mrs) B.C Ijeoma, the commissioner for Housing and Urban Development Imo State, Hon. Prince (Dr) Charles Onuoha, SA to Governor Rochas Okorocha on Igbo Affairs, Engr Cletus Amaraegbu, the chairman Conference of Nigeria Political Parties Dr. (Mrs) M.I. C Mere and others.
