Imo State participation at the Calabar Carnival has come under fire by Imolites who are not comfortable with the scrapping of the December Imo Carnival, saying that it makes no sense to have people travelling to another man’s land when his own is boring.

Reports however have it that Imo State Carnival has been shifted to Easter Period, to enable other states and country participate in it. The shift will ensure that Cross Rivers and other states will also return the visit alongside other countries as Imo State is looking at boosting her tourism strength with the Mega Carnival.
