Science and Technology Minister, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu has commiserated with the family of Chief Nath Onyeukwu (Ikemba Owerri) over the death of his wife, Late Lady (Lolo) Catherine Nnenna Onyeukwu (Nee Umah)

Dr. Onu arrived the country home of the Onyeukwu’s on Friday, June 10, 2016, in Owerri, Imo State, where he expressed sympathy over the demise of the matriarch of the Onyeukwu family, whom he described as a virtuous, peaceful and a devout Christian woman who put God first in everything she did in her lifetime.

He said he received the news of her death with shock, urging Chief Onyeukwu and family to bear the loss with fortitude.   The Minister who was accompanied by his wife, Lady Chinyere, described the passing- on of Lady Onyeukwu as shocking and urged the family to be consoled by the fact that God is the giver and taker of life.

Dr. Onu said Late Lady (Lolo) Onyeukwu (nee Umah) was an accomplished woman who placed God first in everything she did while on earth.

Earlier in his remarks, the husband of the deceased, Chief Nath Onyeukwu, Ikemba Owerri thanked Dr. Onu for the condolence visit to his family.

Chief Onyeukwu, a retired Assistant General Manager of the Nigeria Ports Authority, (NPA) and one time Director of Publicity, “Shinkafi For President Campaign Organization”, narrated how caring, loving and dedicated his late wife was, stating that  he and members of the Onyeukwu family are still in shock over the transition to glory of the matriarch of the family.

He said that the loss of his wife is irreplaceable, narrating how she raised her children in the knowledge and fear of God. 
Dr. Onu was received on arrival at the Onyeukwu country home by one of the sons of the deceased, Mr. Innocent Onyeukwu, a journalist and publisher of Imo State based online newspaper, INNONEWS.COM and other members of the family.  

The deceased is survived by Mr. Sunny Onyeukwu, Special Assistant to the Honourable Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu,   Mrs. Stella Uche (daughter) of  the Border Development Communities Agency, Mr. Obinna Onyeukwu, a Communications expert, Chima Onyeukwu, MD/CEO,SpaceAge Communications, Pastor Okwudiri Onyeukwu, and a son in law,  Barrister Gordy Uche (SAN)  and other relatives.

Late Lady (Lolo) Catherine Nnenna Onyeukwu before her death was a teacher and fellow, American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. She was aged 72 years.
