One of the hottest Local Government Areas, LGAs, in the ongoing LGA congresses of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Imo State is Nwangele as politicians said to be loyal to a serving senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Goodhope Uzodinma and the immediate deputy speaker of the house of Representatives, Abuja, Chief Emeka Ihedioha are in a messier battle.

The faction loyal to senator Uzodinma is insisting that the outing party chairman, Chief Austin Amadi will retain his seat, while the group loyal to chief Ihedioha is insisting on power shift.

A chieftain of the party in the LGA said that it is the turn of Nwangele South to produce the next party chairman of the party in line with the respect to the zoning arrangements in the LGA.

According to him, the outgoing chairman has no party right to seek for reelection having come outside Nwangele South, adding that as an Agbaja man, equity demands that he hands the button of leadership to Nwangele South having superintended over the affairs of the party for six years now. The development has left the LGA in deadlock, as serious political intrigues, skirmishes, power plays are currently going on.
