After abounding the institution’s first semester examination due to an indefinite strike, lecturers of Imo State University Owerri [IMSU], have revealed that they will not go back to school until their demands are met.

The strike which has been attributed to debts, nonpayment of salaries and allowances has crippled academic activities in the institution as the lectures mount more pressure on the Governor Rochas Okorocha led Administration in Imo State.

It was gathered that the strike action by lecturers who are yet to receive any salary since this year, examinations would dangerously affect the Nigeria Universities Commission, NUC, academic calendar for the Institution if nothing urgently is done to avert it.

The first semester examination will only be concluded when the demands of the lecturers are met and at the moment, students of the institution are left stranding with no hopes of completing their examination in time like their counterparts in other institutions.
