An unconfirmed source has it that no fewer than two students have lost their lives in a clash between rival cults at Federal Polytechnic Nekede, on October 14, 2015.
The clash which our source did not mention its cause, started at about 6:30pm in the evening with sporadic shooting by rival cults around the Back Gate and Umuerim, Transformer areas claiming two lives.
During the shooting, students found cover any where possible until men of the Nigeria Police and Army came to the rescue and ended the shooting.
Peace has been restored in the area, but there are fears that there might be re-occurrences especially if those killed were from the same cult as retaliation is a known factor in cult clashes even when no one could say when it would be.
The identities of the students alleged shot dead have not been revealed, no one knows if they are cultists or innocent students caught by stray bullets.
