Frontline Imo State blogger and entertainment analyst, Chinedu Hardy Nwadike has made it clear that 2013 has been the best year for Imo State based artistes in the last decade. This was after it was made clear that since then, no artiste has surpassed the record of hit songs and talent revelations that year has  2013 seen.
Hardy Nwadike who has also had a stint in the music world with three official sing said 2013 was more like a revolution year after which most artistes could not carry on with the spirit and sustain the efforts.

He cited the evolution of entertainment blogs, new artistes and events as the reason for the success that year witnessed and added that the Imo State music industry could get back to that glory if artistes can recreate the spirit and unity of 2013 in the present.
“For me, I’m yet to live in a year better than 2013 in the music industry in Imo State. I have been here most of my days and I have seen what artistes are doing, there’s no doubt that after the sharp rise in 2013, it wasn’t easy for us to move forward again or even stand at the same point.
That year saw a any attitude in DJ, radio and TV presenters, even some Imo State based newspapers were learning to promote more of local contents and it was more like a new thing that we have never seen before. People embraced it but when the artistes and other stake holders declined in their productivities, everything changed”
He cited some good events like Star Nite and others like it which had good publicity on the local media as another reason but added that when such events could not continue, everything failed.
“Everything was done without the government and I know it too well as an insider that the government of the state did not contribute anything then because there was no Special Assistant on Entertainment at that time.
‘Things Fall Apart’ is the current case of the industry at the moment but we believe the government can also do their part in rescuing the industry by appointing a credible entertainer as Special Assistant on Entertainment to  the Governor when the list of prospective political appointees will be released.
Creativity should be the cutting edge here and it should not just be someone who is creative in one genre of entertainment, but someone who has a little of this and that, he or she but is now good in his area of specialization.
But while artistes are waiting for the government, they can also do their own part by raising the quality of songs they bring out, and even at that, the bulk of the work will rest on the radio/tv stations, DJ, newspapers and other stake holders involved in music production, because without them, no one will hear the artistes” Hardy added.
Chinedu Hardy Nwadike who recently won the best blogger award in the just concluded Imo State Social Media Awards concluded by saying that stars are like light and only when Imolites join hands to make one or two from the locals in the state, no one will ever take Imo State entertainment Industry serious.
