2012 will remain a year Obiajulu Okwuosa popularly known as OB Fado will look upon as a footstool of motivation, having bagged two awards in it.
The Hot 99.5 FM Owerri presenter who won the Most Popular Radio Presenter (Talk Show) in South East, male category, and an Award of Excellence by Nigerian Broadcasters Merit Award (NBMA) and Imo Poly Press respectively said the awards have given him motivation to do more for the city of Owerri and broadcasting industry as well.
“The awards made me consider full time work on radio, rather than the weekend bits I was handling.
The NBMA award was given to me for my interactive shows like ‘What’s on your mind’ and ‘Sing and play’ which I created myself. ”
Fado who has a programme dedicated to playing songs by O’town artistes refuted the speculation that he was mandated by the management of the station to play the song.
“There was no mandate, I figured it will be a way to help O’town based artistes in my little way. That’s is why I’m doing it.
The programme was designed for no other city but Owerri and I don’t see it changing anytime from now”
The dark skinned presenter who also anchors ‘The Drive’ and ‘Saturday Flow’ hopes to achieve more in 2013, stating that the motivation from the award will see him through the challenges that will come along the way.
“With God, and the awards, I have something to look up to. When I look at the support from people out there, I just want to do more. They have shown me so much love and I’m always happy when I see people appreciating my work, I just feel great and want to do more” he added.
